Services

Megan provides standard outpatient dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) according to the gold standard treatment model including all 4 modes of treatment: skills group training, individual therapy, phone coaching, and a therapist consultation team.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

As a comprehensive treatment, DBT has the following goals:

  • Decreasing life-threatening (e.g., suicidal attempts, suicidal threats, suicidal thoughts) and self-injurious behavior
  • Decreasing therapy-interfering behaviors (e.g., missing or coming late to sessions, remaining silent in sessions)
  • Decreasing quality-of-life interfering behaviors (e.g., fighting with people, substance abuse, trouble in school or work)
  • Increasing coping skills (e.g., learning to deal with conflict, learning to cope with painful emotions, improving positive self-care)

Comprehensive Online DBT

Megan specializes in DBT via telehealth, which allows clients to participate in a comprehensive DBT program from the comfort of their homes. This online DBT program adheres to the gold standard treatment model including all four modes of treatment:

  • Online DBT Skills Group Training

  • Online Individual DBT Therapy

  • Phone Coaching

  • Consultation Team

Trauma Healing Therapies

Trama healing therapies include:

  • Somatic Experiencing®
  • DBT-PTSD
  • Internal family systems
  • Compassion based mindfulness interventions
  • Sensory-motor psychotherapy
  • DBT prolonged exposure protocol
  • Trauma informed yoga

I have been in therapy for many years, I often wondered why I was not getting anything out of it. I soon came to realize that it was because I was receiving the wrong type of treatment. Once I found out about DBT, everything clicked and my questions seemed to be answered. This is what I should have been doing all along.

I was immediately determined to enroll in a program. The process was not just as easy as making an appointment. I learned that if you are looking for a therapist trained by Marsha Linihan, they are considered “gold standard”.

When first met with Megan, I felt like I found a pot of gold. She truly did offer the gold standard treatment model with all four components of DBT. Megan is very compassionate about what she does.

Therapy is not always easy, but I have never felt like I was in the process alone. When I talk, Megan listens to hear, not just listens just to listen. She pays close attention to even the small details, so each session does not real like a repeat of the last, it always feels like progress. Megan is far from judgmental, she supports you to help you create the life that you find worth living.

I have felt hopeless many times, that my life would remain the same forever. I did not see change possible any where in sight. Megan works with me to help me through what every I am going through, she does not have a set agenda that makes me feel like the session was a waste of time. I am fairly new to learning DBT, and I am pretty impressed with how quickly I am picking up the skills and being able to apply them to my life so quickly. I am noticing anger decrease, relationships improve, and my mood stabilize. I can honestly say, if it was not for Megan, I would never have been able to see light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
